词组讲解

1. get the runaround **听到各种借口，受到推诿或搪塞，被骗

解 习语；词义溯源：得到［借口、推诿、搪塞、欺骗（runaround）］；give sb. the

runaround表示“想方设法推诿”

例 you'll never find out who ordered the police to ¹ your building. if you inquire, you'll

just get the runaround. they'll just send you from office to office and you'll never get the answer.

2. get the sack 〔ax〕 *被解雇；被拒绝
