1. get out of a mess **摆脱困境
解 〈口〉习语;词义溯源:从[困境(mess)中]出去;与this、such、a等词一起使
用;参照get into a mess
例 it's going to take you at least $50,000 in lawyers fees to get out of this mess. are you
prepared to pay that much for your freedom? we can win, but like i said, it's going to cost you.
2. get over sb. or sth. ***渡过,跨过;恢复;克服,战胜;逃避
解 短语动词;词义溯源:[越过(over)]某人或某物而去
例 paul and christ had barely gotten over their anxiety caused by the crashing sound of the
thunder, when a strange noise in the ceiling sent them running down the hall screaming for their
parents.
3. get physical with sb. / get physical **实行体罚,动刑;动手动脚
解 习语;词义溯源:以某人[为对象(with)]成为[身体的、喜好对方肉体的
(physical)]状态
例 officer downing is accused of getting physical with a witness who refused to give any
information on the robbery. the report on the incident says downing pushed the witness, slapped
